Transparency

Seeing as it's nearly Halloween, I thought I would share these experimental shots taken by my beau in Thailand. New camera gear + deserted beach + pretty flowey dress + moonlight = transparent floating glowing ghost.
Dress by Zara.
Belt borrowed from my Mum.

1970s Morocco

For their holiday look book, Free People took inspiration from the style of bygone decades. These extracts are simply stunning and for me, they evoke blissful memories of holidays in Morocco. I particularly love the lace and sequins in the last shot.  Oh... I ache for a holiday!

Golden leaves

Inspiration for this week - leaves! Unlike many people, I love this time of year. I get very excited when the evenings get darker and colder. It means I can look forward to cosy nights inside while the wind howls outside. I was at my family home in the Irish countryside recently and while taking a walk around the garden, I was reminded how much I love Autumnal colours too. The fourth photo is of our stag, Harold - his antlers are incredible. They will fall off naturally in a few months and will one day grace the wall above my fireplace! Isn't he stunning?

I'm wearing- River Island scarf, Metalicus top, Urban Outfitters top, Topshop belt, All Saints jeans.

Spell + Grazia!

I was really excited to hear that Spell designs has been featured in Grazia UK! I love Spell's jewellery and clothes - I'm the proud owner of their Pocahontas Princessette necklace and I don't think my obsession will end with it... the Afghan Turquoise ring, the amazing bull skull ring - they are all on my must-own list.

Ribbon + Kite

When I was in college, I always thought it would be totally romantic to meet a cute boy and go fly a kite on the beach. Ten years later, the man of my dreams and I decided we would do this. But rather than buying a kite, we thought it would be much more fun to design and construct our own kite. So, for two weeks, we discussed the design and gathered the necessary components - bamboo sticks, colourful crepe paper, fishing line... For Mark, this was a serious engineering project to satisfy his nerdy tendencies. For me however, it was an opportunity to hunt down some pretty in Dublin town. And so, I spent hours in A.Rubanesque in the Powerscourt Centre (a passementerie boutique no less) indulging in beautiful ribbons. I could have bought the whole shop but eventually settled on three metres of blue, green and spotty ribbons and a packet of luggage tags (totally unconnected with the kite, I just love to wrap presents and make them look lovely!). We spent a week constructing our kite, painting it, fine tuning it until we finally felt it was ready for its big day.

On a sunny Sunday morning, we took the bikes out and cycled to the beach. I was beyond excited. The wind was very calm but we went for it anyway. I think the photos tell the rest of this story...

Intimate Beauty

Saw these gorgeous pics on the Free People blog and I just had to post them. This is Free People's intimates designer. In these pics, she is wearing the most luscious vintage night gown I have ever set my eyes on. And it belonged to her Mum. I adore how she has styled it. The deep v-back is particularly divine.

Autumnal Feast

The new fall lookbook for Planetblue is a feast for the eyes. It's no secret that I'm a lover of all things fringe and that leather fringe necklace adorned with turquoise beads is sooooo dreamy. But it doesn't end there! What about the chunky knits, the paisley velvet bell bottoms, the lorelei turquoise bracelet? And the clincher? They ship to Europe! Hurrah!

Want, want, want

Fashiontoast has published these gorgeous snapshot teasers of Olivier Theyskens' new collection for Theory! I want all of it immediately! The sheer knits, the ethereal fairy dresses, the open stitched sweaters, the silver open backed tank!!! Breezy, fresh and eclectic. This is absolute perfection in my book.

Sea Breezy

The sun shone brightly in Dublin yesterday so we drove out to the coast to drink in some sunshine and sea breeze. I love Dublin on a sunny day. We peered over cliffs to watch dolphins playing in the waves and enjoyed the fact that the sea was the same colour as the sky. So beautiful. And the perfect outing to wear my new breezy Free People jumper.

I'm wearing - Free People Jumper, Bassike singlet, All Saints Ashby jeans, Minnetonka Moccasins, my favourite thrift store hat and bag from Armstrongs on the Grass Market in Edinburgh, Jacket by ecote.
